There is a daisy bush across from where I live that when at its most resplendent, looks like dark green sky with white stars. Are the daisies here turning into stars, or is it the other way around? Who knows.

Here is a dragon who has resigned herself to the fact that she’s being used as a resting place for someone small, grey, and fluffy.

This little painting is based on a drawing I did several years ago. For a while I wasn’t sure exactly what to put on the TV screen- what kinds of broadcasts would forest dwellers enjoy the most? And what kinds of signals are most clearly received via tree branches? Then I saw a little crescent moon with a mystery planet beneath it in the morning sky and the decision was made for me.

The book held by the bear-like creature in this painting represents a sort of treasury of knowledge that every person has- one that grows and changes, and is influenced by time, people and other forms of life, and the wild forces of nature. The seahorse dragon is a union of sky and water and represents the importance of the imagination. The moths, as lunar creatures, are there as bringers of night dreams, but carry the gold of the day’s sunlight in their wings.

This is a bowhead whale. Bowheads are amazing for many reasons, but I think the most astonishing thing about them is that they are believed to be able to live for 200 years or even longer. It’s possible that there are bowheads in existence today that were around all the way back in 1819!
The forest sprite in the boat is on its first arctic adventure, and is excited to have seen not only a star of the sea but a curious bowhead also.
